I'm not sure what to make of this but Rockcastle was being sold at auction today.

Brownells / Arfcom should buy it

That doesn’t seem good.

I've shot many matches there...
Mostly 3-gun and a shotgun pro am.
Itll be interesting to see what ends up happening to the place

They have events scheduled there through the end of the year?  This is... odd...

I was shooting there on Saturday at the three man 3-Gun.

No mention of this at all...

I was at the 3 Man 3 Gun on June 8 too, then back the next week for the ICA match. Spent 4 out of the past 7 days at the Rock.

The auction did not happen. I hear the auction company jumped the gun with the advertisement and later advertised a cancellation. I also hear there is some behind the scenes paperwork restructuring going on but nothing that affects shooting or scheduled events

Wtf.

The Arfcom proam shoot was the best time ever.

Arfcom needs to buy

For a 3 Gun event it was like nothing else that had ever happened before...because nothing like that had ever happened before....it was before 3GN, “Major” matches every month somewhere, and when the firearms industry was booming at a record pace. A prefect storm that in many ways set a course that would make it hard to repeat itself.

I have not missed a ProAm yet and I plan to be there again in August.

Wife and I were at the ladies fall west this weekend at RC. Rumors on site revolve around the auction being a catalyst to bring in investors.

Hopefully they can keep the venue going... Lots of good times playing in the red dirt and poison ivy

I have stayed there numerous times.  It is a fantastic piece of property in a great location.

Scuttlebutt is that the lodge was sold to one person and another person purchased most of the remaining property... no info other than that.

Looks like RockCastle as we all knew it is done.

New owners have no interest in continuing the shooting sports.  Thunder Valley alone wouldn't be sufficient to run a complete match and that property has also changed hands and the new owner is not open to matches.

Such a shame.

I wonder what they’ll do with it
