What pistol do you usually run in a 3 Gun match?
|
|
I use a CZ75B for USPSA Production, so I just run the same thing for 3 gun.

HAd been running an XD-9 service for the last couple of years. EAA Witness Match next month.

Glock.
I've always wanted to toy with switching to a 2011, but every time I save up the cash I put it toward something else. |
|
Glock 34.
Several off my friends shoot various Akai Custom 9s I'm debating selling a kidney. |
|
Currently using a xDm 9, but I've used a Glock 22, M&P 9 and 40.

Been running a Glock......just ordered a 2011. Couldn't fight the urge anymore.

Plastic guns will get you started. Metal guns will get you titles.

Rocked a Glock for about a year, then ran a P16-40 for a few years, and finally graduated to the wonderful world of STI. Haven't won any Major matches (probably never will), but hold my own at the local and state level. |

Apparently I'm going backwards. ..I started with a 1911 and now use a Smith & Wesson M&P Pro.

CZ 75 SAO 9mm. It's what I shoot the best by far. I'm not a real serious competitor though; I've been to three 3gun matches over the course of 3-4 years. Hoping to get to more this year though.

Shoot a Glock 34 now but this past year picked up a STI which will probably be taking it's place by the end of the year. Going to shoot the STI in some USPSA this year. Just need to get more used to the operation before running it in a 3 gun match.

Just became an "STI Guy".
My STI Tactical 5.0 in 9mm came in yesterday. The only mods I'm doing: - STI "TAS" adjustable rear sight with tritium - Dawson FO front sight. - Dawson Ice Magwell - 5 140mm mags. I'm going to leave them stock for now and see how they run before 'tuning' them. |

I switch between a Sig 1911 and a CZ 75B, depending on which division I am shooting. Next year I might mix in a Beretta M9. I shoot the CZ in USPSA Production and the Sig in Single Stack too. I tend to flip flop, in that one year I will shoot Heavy, and Single Stack, so I use a 1911 all year. The next I will shoot the CZ in USPSA Production and Tac or Irons.
My 15yo has been running an XDm 5.25 9mm, plus using it in Limited USPSA. The 13yo runs an M&P Pro 9L, also in Limited USPSA.

I've heard STI is pumping out their most recent handguns pretty quick and their craftsmanship / performance is going south a bit (they wouldn't be the only ones as of the recent past). Has anyone picked up an STI or specifically a 2011 recently that can shine some light on this? I'm thinking about making the jump to a Tactical 5.0 but am hesitant to drop that much $$ just quite yet.

Glock 34 in all gun games.
If I had the money I'd be shooting an SVI sight tracker. It will be a while before that happens so glock for the foreseeable future. |

I have zero complaints. Both function and finish are well worth the price. Laid side by side with a 3 year old STI Edge, I see no drop in product quality. |

I'm going back and forth between my Beretta, Sig, Glock and 1911...
I'm leaning towards a 2011 in .45 sometime in the future |
|
I just run my SIG P228. Once I put a SRT on my P226 9mm I will start using that.

Springfield XD9 Tactical with a few mods and Arrendondo mag extensions (21 rounds and 20 reloadable).

Walther PPQ M2 5" in 9mm. Love that trigger, though holsters for the 5" are not as well supported as other major brands, or even just a regular 4" PPQ.

Update, I got a Glock 34 back in December and I've been rocking it at pistol matches and 3 Gun since.
I'm eventually gonna get a STI, for now G34 it is |
|
Posted here a little over 3 years ago when I first got my STI 2011. I have shot it in a bunch of USPSA matches and it's great there but I have stayed with the Glock in 3 Gun. My main reason is after watching some reliability issues and also people getting DQ'd for safeties popping off when discarding pistols in buckets, I decided to stick with the Glocks. I don't see them as holding me back at all. I did go to a Glock 35 with a 9mm barrel. It puts some added weight in the front of the pistol and helps with recoil and muzzle movement.

Just traded my .40 Edge for a new Marauder, really liking it.

Shot my first match yesterday with a stock Glock 17 4th gen. Will probably continue to use it, maybe with upgraded sights, unless/until I drop the dough for a G34.
I noticed a lot of M&Ps and a few G19s as well. Only one 1911. |

G34 for 4-5 years and just switched over to a 2011 last year.

CZ Tactical Sport here - I was shooting a FN9L and for a striker pistol I loved it. Wanted to get into a 2011 and then found these CZ's and with their reliability, not sure if I'll ever own a 2011!
Just replaced the grips to these red ones this off season. I wanted to change up the grip tape layout that was on it when I got from the previous owner. Excited for the 2018 season to start in a few weeks! Attached File Attached File |
