Anyone make a section of rail to replace the rear dovetail sight on a Marlin 336? I'd like to mount a red dot where the rear sight is and can't find anything.

Pretty sure if you google dovetail reflex mount you will get some hits.

Pearson's makes a short rail that looks like the one above. I've been thinking of one for my Rossi 92 lever in 357 mag..

Never mind...just noticed that your rifle is 30-30...their rail is not recommended for that much recoil.

Yeah my 336 is in 35 Rem so I don't think the cheapies will work. All I want is a small rail to replace the dovetail not the huge XS rail that i'll never use.

Wild West Guns makes a Scout mount that is placed at the rear sight. It requires drilling and tapping four holes in the barrel, but might be perfect for you. Mine has stood up to a lot of 45/70.
