Looks to me like a lot of fun to shoot.  7lbs 3oz as shown and ready to go with Creedmoor tang and globe front sights, walnut stock, lightly floral engraved receiver, and target triggers.  I already handload 158grn 357mag ammo for my Rossis and use my 24" rifle with it's tang and globe sights setup to shoot out to 300yds. With that tall, adjustable Creedmoor, this might be the ticket for 400yds.  Yep, think of 400yds with a pistol bullet!!

Anyone got one? How well is it made? How smooth is the action, the triggers?  Overall quality?  I'd like some info before I plunk down 4 times what my Rossi rifle cost me in 2009 for one.

I wish there was one for the 1873 Trapdoor or a Spencer.

Pedersoli quality is second to nobody at the price.  Perhaps the various US single shot makers pull ahead on the high end, but you pay for it.  Pedersoli barrels are also very nice, I believe the BP crowd competes with the stock barrels without issues.

I was trying to find something like that in 22LR.

Lyman marketed one for a while but I was too late into the market.  All that was available was 22 Hornet.

I just got a flintlock .32 caliber squirrel rifle

It is really nice for the price, I think you will be pleased with pedersoli. They sent a video with my rifle that showed their whole line of guns and the history of the company and video of the manufacturing plant where the rifles are made it was pretty neat and I will definitely buy pedersoli again

I've decided to pass on the idea as it's too expensive for a piece that duplicates my 24" Rossi 357mag rifle.  On it I have a tang and globe sight system that allows me to shoot accurately out to 300yds.  It was an interesting idea but I don't need 2 rifles that do exactly the same thing, are the same size, weigh the same, and shoot the same caliber.

The thing is, a single shot provides a different experience, a slower pace, more comfortable pace, a relaxed, enjoyable pace to your shooting whether from a bench, prone or best of all, supine.  Do it after lunch and relax.

I have the Lyman Pedersoli "1878" ( actually an 1877 Creedmore) and I love it.  It is INCREDIBLY well made.

Double set trigger was insanely light.  I boosted the weight up to about 8 to 10 ounces.

Action is....like....glass!!!!  GLASS, I says!!!!

I also have the 86/71 Levergun.....also incredible.  Absolutely gorgeous wood on it.

I have a Uberti Rolling Block in 357. I love shooting 38 wadcutters at a few hundred yards.

Fire rifle with a little follow through

Unmount rifle

Start to cock to roll back block

Ping! Bullet has arrived

I have shot at paper. They really wobble out there but still keep a pretty group.

200yds with either of my Rossis isn't bad at all as I go after the crazed bowling pins at that distance.  300yds is really challenging though.  The drop, even with my newest 2,005fps 158grn Lil'Gun loads from my 24" rifle, coupled with using a target tang and globe front sight, and topped off by the fact that I'm shooting a JSP pistol bullet with a BC of only .177, and you see why trying to hit a 1MOA target at 300yds is . . . . sporty at best!!

I want one! I want it so bad!!!

I just realized something. Since this isnt a tube feed gun, couldnt you then use some of the .358 caliber Spitzer rifle bullets to get better B.C, thus longer range?

That would pair up well with my Colt SAA in .357

I agree.  I understand the OP not wanting to double up on .357.  I would seriously suggest getting a proper Sharps rifle.  There is nothing more Zen than shooting a Sharps....except maybe a proper bow.
