How do you guys go about getting your ammo cleaned off after youre done reloading?

So far ive just been shooting with the lube on but its pretty sticky and messy.

I tumble it with crushed walnut. Seems to clean better than corn cob media.

For prepped brass, I use Crud Cutter and hot water. Wash, rinse, dry.

For pistol I just use Hornaday spray case lube, and it is just about gone when I empty the bin.

After I resize my rifle brass I run it through the vibratory cleaner/crushed walnut shell media for about 20 to 30 minutes to get the resizing lube off it.

I use carbide dies for the handgun brass so it doesn't get lube on it.

Since the freshly resized brass is clean when I load it there's no reason to run it through the cleaner again to remove lube.

I resize all my rifle brass before loading. Tumble it again after sizing for about 30 min gets the lube off. Then I load it through the 650.
Been doing it for years with my 5.56, .308 and 30-06 for the M1.

Yeah, tumble cases in untreated crushed walnut hulls after sizing and before priming.

This, clean lube off in dry tumbler after brass prep.

I tumble dirty brass,  then do all the case prep with the lube on - then like others have said- tumble again before priming and loading. Works for me.

I use Hornady One Shot lube on all calubers.

Finished rounds get tumbled in fine grit walnut to remove lube.

I don't know how people do this without getting powder sticking inside the neck.
I use RCBS lube which is water soluble.   Rinse with hot water and dry in front of a fan.
They are squeaky clean before anything else gets done.

Lube it

Process it

Clean it

Load it

Home brew dillon style case lube and two XL650 toolheads

I wouldn't trust any case that wasn't delubed first.
Loaded ammo can be tumbled, but have zero interest in doing that.

buy once fired LC brass, dry tumble with this tiny media.

https://www.zoro.com/zoro-select-blast-media-corn-cob-20-to-40-grit-crn3-40/i/G2165387/

spray lube with this...

https://www.ar15.com/forums/armory/Case_Lube_for_cheap_bastards/42-305174/

process with XL650, decap/resize/"swage-it" the primer, trimm with electric RT1200/Lyman M-die mouth.

DILLON XL650 RT1200 SWAGE IT

dry tumble again with tiny 20/40 grit media, it's too tiny to get stuck in the primer pockets.

change out tool head, and load normally.

Last batch of .40 S&W got overlubed with Dillon lube.  Didn't like it so I tumbled in corn cob.  What a mess, covered with powdery stuff.  Finally tried the dryer sheet trick.  Everything came out beautiful.

I lightly lube my pistol cases when I process on the 650.  Even with a carbide die it makes so much easier, especially the .40.

whats the dryer sheet trick?

also im assuming people are tumbling with fresh and clean corn cob and not black corn cob thats been used 500 times

a used dryer sheet soaks up the corn cob dust

You can also hand wipe loaded ammo with a rag or paper towel. Don't be tempted to put any petroleum type product on it just use it plain.

This is what I do when I'm only loading a small amount (like 20 or less) and don't have time for the 1/2hr tumbler clean.

Did an experiment before Christmas with white rice. Tumbled sized cases still sticky with lanolin based lube in white rice along with a small shot of isopropynol and nufinish. About 45min later they were lube free and purdy. I was quite pleased. Faster and easier than wet cleaning again.

Yea, it has to be a used one.
I once made the mistake of using a new dryer sheet. What a disaster.

I will cut the dryer sheet into strips about 1" wide.
Seems to pick up quite a bit more of the fine dust.
It really sticks to the edges of the sheet.
