I have a SGW RR I bought years ago made from an Olympic forged receiver I bought for $12000.

It was blue printed by M60 Joe and refinished for a little less then $1000.  Looks brand new and runs like a top.

It’s in a MK18 configuration with a DD upper.

What’s it worth now?

I have one as well, trending more towards $30k these days by my observations.

Just the observations of someone who has been watching.

They have been going up - basically very few RR on the market right now. They just suddenly disappeared and the prices went up. DealerNFA had maybe 20 M16 listings and then all of a sudden zero.

Just before pandemic it seemed like 18k ish.

Now seems like more like 20-25.

Midwest had an SGW listed in their last news letter for 22,995.

So I would guess 25k or even a little more would sell in a little time, 23k probably sell quick, 20k would sell right now (seriously - as in I would be interested at that price).

Probably won’t sell,  it’s more to see what it was worth.

If I get an outrageous offer then anything is possible.

But I took it out of the safe and I love this thing!

Config make zero difference. The lower has the value. That MK18 crap would be a giveaway at best. Sell it seperatley. Its not era correct for an A1 anyway.

The three newest, non-Colt RR on GB have opening prices of $30k+, one of which is an SGW, and a fourth (Small Arms Weaponry) has a bid for $25k.

All the SAW ones I have seen are on Olympic made lowers. Some with SGW on the mag well and some with SAW on it and Olympic on the rear fire control area. The Olympic one I just looked at was also marked SAW at the bottom of the mag well.

At this point, I wouldn't take under $25k.  All the cheap ones are gone, prices appear to be up significantly in the last 18 months.

Non-colt RR are pushing $30k. Crazy how much the price has changed in a year. Yet look at your grocery bill or the stock market and it’s not that much of a surprise

Does Ruben negotiate at all or are his prices firm?

Not much.  Doesn't hurt to ask but don't expect much especially in this hot market. It's a sellers market right now.

RenegadeX put one up for sale and had it "SPF" within a day at 26K for a stripped receiver.

He said it was a “fair price” at $30k. And someone else agreed because it sold.

For anyone looking, there's a Colt M16 currently bid to $30k on Gunbroker.
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/924745784

There's an Olympic SGW for $27,500 and no bids.  Buy it now of $29,500.

Off topic but is this value because it is an Olympic Arms?
Pre-Ban?
I ask because I have an Olympic Arms barrel (Non-Carbine Pre-Ban) heavy barrel
New never us I'm going to see about selling.

The values in this thread regarding Olympic/SGW lowers is in regards to pre-86 "transferable" machineguns.  The values discussed don't come from the lower being Olympic, but because its its a transferable M16.

Maybe that is what you meant by "pre-ban" but usually that term (i.e. Preban) is usually used in relationship to Pre-1994 manufactured semi-auto AR15s that were exempted from the 1994 Crime Bill "AKA Assault Weapon Ban"

Semi-Auto pre-94 "pre-ban" Olympics still have a high value compared to a normal semi-auto AR lower (like $800 to $1000 for a pre-94 Oly semi auto lower) as there are one or two States where there are still 90s era semi-auto "Assault Weapon" bans on the books and pre-94 Olympics are exempt from those State level bans.

In this discussion, any transferable full auto M16 is worth probably at least $25K today at the low...low end of the pricing spectrum and Oly/SGW M16s are worth a bit more than the very bottom of the price range and currently seem to be in the $28K to $30K price range.

Hope this helps.
