Which supersonic, centerfire, rifle round has the least ballistic penalty out of a 10 inch barrel or less? Something that will reliably (within reasonable shot placement, etc) kill an East Texas hog at 150 yards?

For subs, I assume its 300, but for SuperSonics? I’m not sure.

I’d like something that I can order off the internet or buy at the gun store.

I've smoked many a hog with 220gr 300blk through my obsidian 9. Ballistics aren't great though. Used to live in Lufkin and had a lease in Corrigan.

6.8 wouldn’t be a bad choice

From my understanding. 300blk is for sub 10" and be OK to 100 yards. Any more like 10.5-12" the 6.5 grendel [or 6.8spc] is better with a kill limit of 200yards.

<10". 300blk with Barnes 110gr supers

Have used both on deer and hogs with good results, 6.8 just gives a little more punch and range.

My answers would stay the same if supers only.

FYI right now good 300blk is hard to come by.
6.8 SSt is on the shelf every day at academy/PSA.

My zpap92 in 7.62x39 with deadair Wolverine seems to be a very capable platform. Not much difference vs a 16" 762 AK in the ballistic dept. The standard supersonic and Brown Bear subsonic ammo should drop game with no issue.
