If you've got a relatively modern PTR, the 922R issue is fairly moot given just how many US parts go into them.
Earlier PTRs with the surplus FMP parts, kit builds, etc I guess it's more of an issue. AC-Unity is supposed to bringing wide handguards out for the G3 and HK33/G3K at some point this year. I just turned up a G3 / 91 Green wide handguard in a box of stuff along with another complete set of Green furniture.........German/date coded, an kinda like new....anyone know an approx value ????

I upgraded my PTR-91 with an HK-21 charging handle and rubber buttpad, plus an extended selector. Those make it much more user-friendly. I highly recommend at least those parts. Regarding the buttpad, the recoil isn't at all bad, but I hated having the rifle fall over if it was leaned up on-end with the plastic butt on a smooth or carpeted surface. I've recently added an AIM Sports MLOK forend and have a FAB Defense top rail inbound for use with a red dot. I have a wide forend, but, I have to say, it's not that beneficial. IF I'm not using the standard HG, I'm using the MLOK. |
