Which one it is. Called Sig with the serial but the CS rep couldn't really give me a for sure answer either. He confirmed its a 5.56 with 11.5" barrel pistol with folding brace made June of 2018, stated it was a newer gen2 but that it wasn't a Virtus, which he seemed a bit confused about. Im new to the MCX, so seeing what everyone on here thinks.

That looks like a Legacy upper on a Sig AR lower.

Picked this up at a pawn shop since the price seemed good, but don't know which one it is. Called Sig with the serial but the CS rep couldn't really give me a for sure answer either. Upper is definitely not a Virtus. Looks like either a G1 or G2. You can tell because of the MCX engraving. Virtus will say Virtus, Rattler will also say that as well. It will also be on a different spot on the weapon.

Lower isn't a MCX.

Serial number on the lower came up as an MCX when I called Sig though

MCX hybrid

Legacy upper and AR lower with MCX stock adapter.

If the bolt has a firing pin lock its a gen two BCG.

Edit. Its 100% not an MCX lower.

You're welcome.

Awesome. Only reason they went to a gen2 bcg is because under certain circumstances the 300blk version would slamfire. It was only documented to have happen at Sig and not in the wild.

Do you know if SIG made these just to clear out older parts or is there any advantage/disadvantage to these?

Im not sure but they did come around a little bit before the virtus came out.  So it does makes sense they were clearing out parts. The virtus lower is identical to the legacy lower.

Functionality you wont have an issue. I prefer the MCX lower for cosmetic reasons, ambi controls and the extended mag release.

Edit the MCX lower also has a flared mag well.

As others have said, it is a hybrid from Sig. It's exactly what I have and I love it now.
