Anyone got a lead on reasonably priced bulk 55gr .224 projectiles? Ideally the 6000ct Hornady for under $500.

Sportsman’s warehouse in crescent springs, ky has quite a bit of primers in stock.  Federal, cci’s, remingtons.

No rem 7-1/2, cci 350/550.

Not much on powder selection.

When they arrive can you make a post on the 9mm TMJ? The jackets look mangled by the crimp. I made the mistake of buying pulled plated 9mm before and they were so undersized I couldn't use.

Midsouth has Barnes Tac-TX 110 grainers in-stock. With shipping on 5 boxes, they were actually a little cheaper than Midway WITH free shipping!

https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0003530321/300-aac-blackout-300-whisper-point308-diameter-110-grain-tac-tx-fb-50-count

Pro-tip: I was able to add a few more boxes of (HEAVY) .308 ELDM 225 grain bullets in the order and it didn't change shipping at all. May want to play around with some other items you may "need" to take advantage of near-flat rate shipping.

I liked Graf’s until Texas demanded they charge tax. If I am going to pay tax, I will shop local (avoid the shipping Costs). See if Dillon has a dealer in your area (there are a few in Austin including Ben Stoeger Pro Shop:

No tax for sales to Texas and their prices seemed good. I bought a Redding die set (normally $150 for $104). Shipped quickly. They have a handful of Dillon things - some discounted.

Titan Reloading is another good one. They do a great holiday sale at end of year. Did 10% off last year.

I'd seen Ben Stoeger show up on some searches, but I didn't know they were in Austin...  I'll keep an eye on them.  Like Taylor Tactical (I got my powder bar knob from Taylor), being local makes a nice difference, and I'll support the local guys whenever I can.

I'm getting real irritated with places that let you buy something that they have in stock only to have my order canceled the following day. I thought I finally had some primers and bullets on the way from two different places this week only to have those orders canceled. Powder Valley tried to offer me a "credit" of my purchase price. Told them to give me a refund but nothing yet.

One of the online sources (don't remember which one) said my local Academy had CCI small pistol primers in stock yesterday. I couldn't get there yesterday but did today. Nope. I did snag 1000 large pistol and they also had large rifle & magnum large pistol. Also, grabbed a couple of boxes of Hornady .22 75gr BTHP bullets.

They were also limiting customers to a total of 5 boxes of any ammo and 3 boxes of 223/556, 9mm & something else I don't remember. I didn't see any 9mm or 45acp. The 223/556 was all 55gr, AE, Frontier, ???.

I wish Gunmaster had online ordering.  At least I could see what conversions they have in stock.  ‘Cause a lot of places are out of stock for what I’m interested in...

For figuring out what I need in terms of conversion kits, this GunWiki interactive Dillon Press Caliber Conversion Finder has helped me keep from pulling my hair out.  Plug in what kits you have and what calibers you want to load for, and it puts out a list or table (you can choose) of what individual parts you have, and which ones you need.

Right now, I’m torn between getting a .223 kit (which will give me most parts for loading 300 Blackout and for .380 Auto), or .45 ACP, which will also give me many of the parts for .308 and .30-06...(or the other way around).

I wish that chart had more info for the un-experienced.  I don't see .224 Valkyrie or 6.5 Creed on that list anywhere (maybe I am blind).  I would assume it would be equal to 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Grendel but I hate making assumptions.  I know the 650 and 750 is technically the same but prefer they list it as 650/750 option (very minor but bugs me).

Since it is based on Dillon’s source data - which is dated 5/17/07, I can see it being a little out of date.

There are specific conversions for the Valkyrie (62431),  6.5 Creedmoor (62245), 6.5 Grendel (20895), and 6.8 Special (20324), but I can’t find a list of what parts are in which one.

My “want to find” would be someone pointing me to parts list for those (and any other cartridges not on the list or in the app).

Powder Valley has their .224 77gr "seconds" for $74.95/500.  They look suspiciously like SMKs, but obviously don't say that anywhere.

I have had very good luck with these.  They seem to have a good stock, I just grabbed 3k.

Bit better than Midway’s price:
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1020767641?pid=967626

Unless you can get a shipping deal at Midway

Only big makers of 77 are Berger, Sierra, Nosler and Lapua. Nosler only sells seconds through Shootersproshop.com so it’s got to be one of the others so you can’t go wrong.

At 20 yards on steel they shoot just fine; get good hits. They just came in today so I loaded a dozen or so and popped some steel I have. 3.5 grains of that Vectan/Nobel AS is a decent plinking load. 3.1gr  functions, but sooty.
