I use Leupold Mk-IV rings in super high, it allows everything from the bell of the scope to the cheekrest to clear. They've been mounted for 17 years now and have never come loose or let the scope slip. They were machined so well that I didn't have to lap them, another plus.
As you've found out, if your scope is to low and adjust the cheekrest down for it the bolt handle won't clear it. A PITA for sure but other then super high rings, there is another way around it. The other solution to the problem is to trim off about a 1/4" off the edge closest to the bolt handle. This will allow the handle to clear no matter how low the cheekrest is. Just takes a little time and some paint or some of the plastic trim that you put on the edge of car doors. |

i am sure this isn't much of a help but it is what I do:
I have a millit scope that came with rings, I then ordered a second set of their rings and I am running two sets (4) rings on my tacalite rifle. with the cheaper scope the extra rings remove the flex from it and help it last longer |
