That's pretty cool, can it be helmet or weapon mounted? View Quote |

What color are our lightsabers through this tech?
ETA from website: “ IR lasers and illuminators show up clear as day. They have a white-ish hue under the CVA-14.“ |

Bro, we're not allowed to post links back to our site in a general forum. That amounts to "advertising" per the site sponsorship rules, and we can get in trouble with the site staff. We can do that in our Industry Forum but not the general night vision forum. I realize it is a major chore to go to our website and click on the giant banner for this product that pops up first thing on the homepage, linking you directly to the product where you can read all the information, but life is imperfect. I sincerely apologize for those five seconds of your life we and the arfcom staff will have stolen from you. View Quote But thanks Vic for getting me in the right direction! |

Very cool idea. questions, so it is a spinning wheel setup. How loud and how long do batteries last and since it is eyeball-brain can you hook up a camera or video and see the color?
How is that for run-on questions? ?? Thanks. |

So the rotating color filter scheme is progressing...
I like the posted images and think more info to the eye and brain could be QUITE useful... The tech applied to intensified surveillance cameras would be interesting, and have a greater market, I think. |

This just shows where the industry is headed and I love what I see! Just think in years to come we'll have access to full color nods with no added bulk like this setup. Regardless, its amazing and I can't wait to see what's next!

Very nifty! Can't help but be pleasantly amused how the concept dates back to the era of mechanical and early color television.

Dare I say this, but their website could use a real pic for the comparison instead of a photoshopped one. Not taking away that this is cool tech, and I get it's easier to compare when it's pixel to pixel the same, except for the shirt and some other parts in the center, but hey, not cool.

Other than holding it in your hand, how do folks use it? Weapon Mount? Camera mount?

I want but need to try first. Someone in Ohio please buy one and invite me over :)

Very neat!
What does an IR laser look like with this thing? White? How much noise does it make? |

Nothing has been photoshopped. All legit pics. The only "photoshop" was where I overlaid the color and green images and then cut them in half. But hey, keep throwing wildly baseless accusations out there. It's a bold move. Let's see how it plays out, Cotton. View Quote Edit: to be clear, not accusing you TNVC of doctoring anything, but as said in the previous post, that TAC seems to use one. Would seem the green pic is mostly converted back from the color image and a part taken from an actual through a green tube picture. Makes it look a worse than it should. The one where you can slide to "switch" views too? You can see the shirt is cut and pasted in as the shadow cast from his left hand is cut. The real photo seems to be in their video and in your website, but that interactive huge pic has been doctored. I can't speak to their slider presentation, but I assure you that the image we are showing is from two separate images from two separate sources. It took some time to rotate and stretch things so they would look lined up in our face book and IG hybrid pic View Quote |

Well, then I will offer $500. At that price the company might sell 10 of these instead of zero. The listed price is outrageous except to a government contract where dollar divided by performance matters less.

I can't wait until ATN makes their own and just uses regular daylight pictures for marketing and doesn't even have to tint them green

|
Looking forward to version X where it’s a much smaller footprint for helmet mounting

I trust TNVC unquestionably. Some other company gets more scrutiny. And it does appear they just photochopped an image. Peanut butter and GIFs for comparison: https://media.giphy.com/media/l49JIgeiHIyVtRJrW/giphy.gif https://media.giphy.com/media/xULW8OxxqKfeUZ65yg/giphy.gif View Quote |

Who the fuck cares? I don't understand all this sharp-shooting of TNVC just trying to make an industry announcement. All pictures are but representations of real images anyway. You would really need to look through it to have a any legitimate opinion. I for one don't really give a flying fuck what they did to produce an image to illustrate this new product. If I was interested, I would find one to look through.
I don't get all the negative feedback. WTF? |

Can a magnifier attach to it?
If an IR laser looks red, does an IR flashlight also look red? |

Am I the only person that likes the green better? I mean the color option is cool and certainly has its places to help out our boys and girls in uniform - very neat tech., but for me I like the green glow. Just my 2 cents.
Edit - yeah I also strangely prefer the green over WP - so it is definitely me being weird (probably). |
|
No, actually, based on the PHOTOS I see, I still prefer the contrast of green phosphor.
When I get to see some WP, we'll see. The pros dig it, so there is that. But back to the OP, I can see where Positive Target ID would be easier with color, if you're trying to describe one asshole/vehicle/building from another. |
