So we all know that AR and AK mags pouches don’t work for 20rd FAL mags. I have some 308 pouches made by ATS for my M1A, but Im interested to see what others use. What have you used and what do you like?

Old BAR belt holds more 20rd 7.62 mags than I like carying.
Two per pouch and either 5or 6 pouches on the belt.
Usually works with M14 FAL G3 and BAR.
I'll have to try 7.62 P mags I don't know if they will fit.

I mostly use heavy canvas satchel type bag with shoulder strap, holds 10 or 12.came with old S African web set.
Ammo cans are always an option.

Oh yea, truth be told for a quick jaunt to the range I might toss some mags in a cheap green LAPolice gear tactical satchel.

Issue '44 pattern, or issue '58 pattern

There are also the Arktis made chest rigs, ditto for the Rhodesian type canvas chest rigs (repro's being made of them in India, but not had hands on to see if they're decent quality)

There are tons of dirt cheap HK 91 mag pouches that work just fine.  Leather, vinyl, plastic and ballistic nylon.

Most hold 2 mags.  Keeps FAL mags from damaging range bag contents.

I scored a replica South African chest harness. Made from really heavy canvas. It was around $30 or so.

Seller was commonwealth military supply

Tactical Tailor MAV chest rig
HSGI Tacos on a belt
Rhodesian FireForce vest
Mayflower 7.62mm shingle if with armor
SADF P70 patrol bag has a nice large main pocket and two exterior pockets to hold 4 mags.
Eagle Industries 7.62mm belted ammo bag will carry a good 10+ mags once you remove the inner flap

Recently a company called BudK had Brit PLCE web gear on sale.

Holds 8 FAL mags or 12 M4 mags.

These are the premier magazine pouches in my opinion.  They can be hard to get because of word of mouth about this man's products.

Wondering if he's still in business.  No inventory and his facebook and twitter feed look dead.  Picked up a Garand chest rig from him a while back and it's awesome.

He's still there, I have a lot of his stuff and have been a regular customer.  On my last order I emailed him, he emailed me back when what I wanted was in stock.  He and his wife make all of his stuff and he was cleaned out when everyone started buying guns in 2020.  He cannot keep up because his stuff is so good.

He used to have more options for pouch configurations and also did custom work; I suppose that increase in volume is what led to him simplifying to just one option for everything and eliminating custom orders.

Different pouches I've tried include the Canadian Pattern 2 pouches, Portuguese Army two-cell pouches, Portuguese BAR belts for 7.62X51mm mags, ALICE pouches with the dividers removed, Greek two-cell pouches, and M1956 universal ammo pouches.  I like the Pattern 82 the best.  The ones the Dutch Marines used to use look pretty cool, too, but I've never gotten my hands on any.

I also have an Esstac mag bag, which will hold 9 mags.

Honestly ALICE triple .556 pouches work well. The design of the clasp lends itself to a quick unbuckle and magazine withdrawal in a pretty smooth motion. About as fast as a pouch with bungee strap retention. Plus the ALICE/War belt setup works very well except for riding in vehicles.

I got a Condor double belt pouch for 7.62 when I tried my hand at the Heavy division of the local 3Gun match. They hold a pmag nicely.

I got some of these back in the day.  They were cheap when I got them, but I can't find any in the US now.

The ebay link is cheap enough, but shipping is nuts from Europe
