Assault rifle just has a negative connotation from the left, making it sound attacking, etc.
It's an assault weapon and it is a defensive weapon. I just call it a semi auto since that does the most clear explanation since assault weapon can be full auto or semi auto in the eyes of people. Full auto I call it a machine gun or SMG (sub-machine gun) depending on the caliber. Doesn't matter that it is belt fed or magazine fed. |
