After spending the last weeks building an annealer, I finally got to load a few rounds.  Just 100 rounds of 45 ACP, Berry's FP 185g (50 with Unique @6.0 and 50 with HP-38 @5.5).  Also, after many test runs using 650/450 Tempilaq, I finally ran a few pieces of cleaned brass through the annealer.  It took less than a minute to do the 13 cases.  (Looks a little darker in the picture than it is.)

ETA: Here is a better one.

Did a ton of case prep on 9mm and .223, and loaded up 40 rounds of '06 with the 150 gr. SST and H4350.

Shot my new XDM9 for the first time today. Just two test shots in the back yard.

Made some cheap case lube and resized about 500 pcs of LC once fired brass.

Learned very quickly how much lube is not quite enough, tore a couple cases that fed smooth but then stuck. A slight adjustment to my lube mix fixed that.

Today I checked 5 stores for primers.... not a single one on the shelf.

What an f'ing wonderful time to be getting into this hobby where you'd like just a sleeve or two to try things out.

So today? I struck out... But hey.. I only got laughed at once.

I would send you a sleeve for free but the damn $27.50 Haz-Mat would really be a kick in the nuts...

You might want to put in a back-order for a few thousand at Graf's or another online retailer just to get in line for the next shipment...

.223 brass prepping, was tumble/decap/ultrasonic cleaning them, they're all dry now and it's time to trim.

I hate trimming large batches.

I appreciate the thought. Figured the Hazmat fee would prevent people from being overly generous, as that wasn't my intent of the post. Merely just to vent...

Just odd to be able to find powder, but no primers.

I'll look into that backorder. Thank you.

I tried out the new CFE223 powder. This very fine grain ball powder sticks to the inside of my clear drop tube. I must tap the tube so that all of powder drops into case. Maybe antistatic spray will prevent this from happening. Anybody know a good trick to prevent this.

In my Colt AR15 6920 this powder shot verywell with Molly Coated Sierra 52 Matchkings. I used Hodgdons max load 28.5 grains with no signs of high pressure. Primers were not flattened or cratered, primer pockets are tight and snug, no bulging of case.

Here is this load:

Winchester brass

Remington 7 1/2 BR primers

CFE223 28.5grains

Molly Coated 52 grain Sierra Match Kings
....

I've been selling everything that isn't bolted down.

I'll probably buy a fairly nice something in 6 months with the profit.

To be honest, I plan to buy a reloading system in the near future, and it would sure suck to fork over the cash for one then not be able to find primers. I'm just pre-purchasing.

As someone who bought into reloading on Thanksgiving during the Cabelas sales... yea.. it does

I organized my reloading supplies and took a bare-bones inventory of what I have on hand. I am not quite at a "hoarders reality show" level but I was comforted by my level of preparedness.

It is funny though how you can forget about things you bought just a few years ago. I bought these when I got my LCP and they ended up getting lost at the bottom of a big box of random stuff, I love surprises!!

I finished pepping 150 Guatemalen surplus 5.56 cases today. I've come to the conclusion that I despise case preparation.  This is only exacerbated with the Guat brass and its horrifically tiny little flash holes.

My process:

1. Tumble clean/polish
2. Hog out the flash hole with my Lyman Flash Hole Deburring tool chucked in my RCBS Trim Mate.
3. Lube with Imperial Sizing Die Wax
4. Decap and resize in press
5. Trim on Lee Zip Trim
6. Back to the Trim Mate to Chamfer, Deburr, clean up the flash hole from the primer side, remove crimp, and clean the primer pocket.

If I weren't so anal retentive about keeping every piece of brass I stumble across, I might not go through the effort.

Deprimed and sized thousands of .223 brass and then sorted them into two piles; ready to reload and needs military primer crimp removed. Already have many test loads ready for the range on Tuesday so tomorrow will take the box of brass that needs the primer crimp removed over to a friends to use his lathe to ease the pain of making them reload ready.
