Sorry if this is the wrong form but it seems the most fitting for what I’m looking for. I seem to have accumulated several cases both long and short. I am having a hard time trying to figure out where to put all of these. Up until now I just put them on the shelf but now I have too many that doesn’t really fit on a shelf. Also I have one case that is quite long and I have no idea where to put it. I was thinking of building some sort of storage box or rack but I figured I would ask to see what you guys are doing with all these things.

Most are in the attic except for the main one on top of a shelf in the garage.

mine are in a closet i’ve been slowly taking over. I’m to the point where I’m going to pull everything out and build it out as my full time gun/prepping storage area.

Sell any hardcases you get, maybe keeping one or two for pistols if they are handy like Glock style.

Recycle all cardboard boxes.

Keep a few soft or hard rifle cases for transport.

I usually leave mine laying around in the basement work shop until I trip over them and then I move them to another place in the work shop until I need a tool and have to move them again and then I move them to another place in the workshop until I trip over them again causing me to to move them to anot... well, that's how I do it.

I’ve got hard and soft and rarely use them. Hard to justify, since I can be to my hunting or shooting area by the time I can find them.

Are they really worth selling, or even able to be sold?

I have TONS of hard pistol cases that I'd love to rehome, but I can find no similar sales in the EE, and can't imagine them being worth the cost of mailing/shipping them.  Do folks really buy them second-hand somewhere?

Yup, got a stack of them on top a couple storage containers in the garage.

When I need one I grab the gun from the safe and carry it to the pile of cases and choose the one that seems to fit the best for that range trip.

But I have given some hard thought to getting rid of them.  I found a better way to move guns when it's time to move from home to home.  And I don't take that many guns to the range when I go anymore.

I have a couple of shelves in my garage that sit above my ammo cans.  I know the garage is not the best place for ammo but I cannot move the pallet inside because I am now raising two grandkids.

Probably to clear up space?  Who needs a bunch of cheap plastic boxes or cardboard on non-collectible firearms?

Got rid of all the hard cases as they were impractical. Switched to bags that hold two-three rifles. I have one hard case left in the event someone takes me on a trip but day to day I use soft cases which can squish anywhere.

I put them in a case, that is inside of a case, that is....

The soft cases go in a Rubbermaid footlocker that followed me home from the Army. The hard cases go on a golf bag rack I bought off Amazon. Large open area fits 6 hard cases standing on end. Handgun hard cases and random accessories go on the smaller shelves to the right. Whole thing is on wheels and moves easily, I really need to order another one.

Are these the cases that the firearms came in or ones you bought?
Cases that pistols came in are stacked in a hall closet with long gun cases on a shelf in my cave.
I don't need that many as I only bring one or two rifles when shooting.

I put all of my soft rifle cases and a couple of smaller hard rifle cases in one of those fake xmas tree storage bags. Keeps all in one place and just open and pull what I need. It sits under the stairs going down to the basement out of the way.

Larger hard cases are stacked in the same place just not in the xmas tree bag

If you have room in your garage above the garage door, put some shelves up and store gun cases up there.  My old garage had 9 feet ceiling so there was a good 12" above the door springs for shelves.

Soft cases hang on coffee cup hooks, suspended in an extra closet.  I have a few soft Midway discreet cases that stack nicely, on top of my safe.

All other cases and boxes are in the attic.
