So my Uncle gave me a gift Christmas Day.  It belonged to my grandpa and was handed down to my Uncle years ago.  Apparently it has had less than a dozen rounds put through it.  It is in near pristine condition with only one tiny speck on the right side of the stock, a very beautiful rifle.  Made in Japan with a Weatherby scope and tube fed.  I looked on gunbroker and apparently these things go for between 800 and 1200.  Obviously I have no interest in selling it but I'm wondering who all has experience with these.  Prior to this rifle I had never heard of them.  It seems too nice to use.

Beautiful rifle and one you must keep in the family. The scope does look like a Weatherby. Fewer tube models were produced than clip models. They have a tang safety
as well as the single round firing selector on the right side that looks like a safety. Your wood and condition is very nice. Here is a table showing who made these for
Weatherby over the years. The table shows the starting serial number for maker/year. Some of the stocks were salted to dry the wood so you might want to take the
action out and oil the metal as a precaution. They are excellent shooters.

1964-1971 Beretta - Italy Mark XXII Clip 01000 - 43352
1967-1971 KTG - Japan Mark XXII Clip J25000 - J42290
1972-1980 Nikko - Japan Mark XXII Clip N45000 - N63056
1973-1980 Nikko - Japan Mark XXII Tubular T00003 - T22506
1981-1982 Mossberg - USA Mark XXII Clip AC01000 - AC01670
1981-1982 Mossberg - USA Mark XXII Tubular AT01000 - AT01640
1984-1988 Howa - Japan Mark XXII Clip JC10000 - JC13250
1984-1988 Howa - Japan Mark XXII Tubular JT50000 - JT54874

Wow, excellent information, thank you! Mine serial number falls at the 1973-1980 Nikko series you have listed.  It was probably purchased in the early to mid 80's.

Here are some more photos.  You can see the speck on the side of the stock where it got dinged.  Other than that I can't find anything wrong with it.  It's been kept well oiled and put away in a safe. Looks like the original scope and covers with it too.
