Wasn't all ammunition in world war 2 corrosive?

I don't think any militaries of the era used non corrosive primers. They were still fairly new and how they held up after long term storage was still a concern.

No actually M1 Carbine ammo always used non corrosive primers, so any US surplus .30 Carbine is no corrosive...

>30-06 was corrosive until 1952 IIRC...

The word on the street was M1 Carbine ammo was always non-corrosive untill recently when China cranked out a bunch of it.

As far as I know everything else in WWII was corrosive

WARNING!!!!!!!

The fake Chinese stuff is dangerous.  Head case separations are frequent.  I nearly destroyed a carbine not knowing about this stuff.

Go on line and see the diff.  If it comes in a box marked 7.62mm it is dangerous!  It is also headstamped LC 42 like the original but with obvious differences.

It is also highly corrosive.

I believe that the fake/Chinese .30 Carbine ammo is headstamped “LC 52”.

That is correct and it is packed in brown boxes with blue LC 52 and no other markings . It is clearly not USGI.

Since this turn to talk of .30 Carbine ammo, be advised that the French also made some corrosive .30 Carbine ammo.

As a note, surplus Swiss GP11 is also non-corrosive.
