I’ve a chance to buy, locally at that, around 250 rds and maybe more if this ammo. I remember several years back that some questioned the quality of this ammunition. I can’t remover exactly, but is it overall safe to shoot?  I think headstamps are PS 75, maybe 77 or so. Thanks in advance.

Yes...it was PS 75 that had issues.  If its in the original packaging the lot# will be visible.  If its not PS 75 then it should be fine.

Worse case is it IS PS 75 and loose.... buy it for scrap price then reload the powder and projo into new brass.

That’s my plan, I just needed the year of manufacture. Thanks!

Keep in mind not all Korean M2 was PS headstamp.  KA was also brought in at the same time and although mostly good ammo it is to be considered corrosive.

Korean ammo is good stuff.  Like posted above PS is noncorrosive & KA is corrosive.  I've shot a bunch of both through my Garand & 1903, just clean well afterwards.

Years ago I bought a couple bandoliers of KA headstamp M2 ball. I asked the guy if it was corrosive and he lied to my face and said no. I looked it up and it is corrosive, this was before I knew the difference.

Corrosive ammo is still good ammo.  Clean your rifle.

I have some cans of this stuff.

Delinked in a Korean can, mixed HS.  I'll look for PS75 but is there anything else that needs to be looked for other than obvious corrosion issues?

Is this delinked ammo the same load they use for M1's?

thanks

Yes, no such thing as "MG ammo"

KA headstamps are corrosive primed FYI.
