Make sure you research for the correct ammo.
I strictly reload for mine when I shoot it. Awesome rifles clean it real good make sure you def get a 2piece pin setup it also need to be a specific one. It has a slot in it. If you go looking for a bayonet it is a different one than most use due to the flashhider diameter. |

Check the firing pin spring.
It should be a couple of coils longer than the pin. They can slam fire. Great guns though. I have a Luxembourg and I built an Egyptian from a stripped receiver |

GREAT rifles and usually VERY accurate...almost as good as the swedes.

I have a great Ven FN49 as well. I use 70s surplus FN 7mm maser ammo. It was sold in 100rnd boxes and you can find it on GB still but the price gets higher. Luckily I have a few thousand for mine already stored away. The ammo was made for the rifle.

I have a Venezuelan and an Egyptian one and I like both of them though I don’t really shoot them. I feel that it was a great rifle that just came around at the wrong time.
