I realize this is a stupid airsofter question, but has anyone tried writing on the other shoulder?

Having "US" on one side and "TX" on the other would be kinda cool.

Well, I finally upgraded from my 2007 issued molle FLC and bought the TAG xerces rig in ACU on clearance. Transferred all my stuff over. Over all better, though a few small space drawbacks (less room for extras)

What pouches are you using for your AK mags?

I have a woodland flc setup for my AR, I'd like to set one up for my AMD65.

I'll bet dollars to donuts he made then himself.  KND makes quality custom gear.

Yup. He's been rolling custom gear for me for a few years now. The best stuff.

Ordered two of them of eBay for $29 with pouches. Dug through my garage and found my old MOLLE Buttpacks with goodies like an IFAK, stripped MREs, 550 cord, fire, and poncho. Setting up a clone for the wife.

My woodland rig, the ifak is in my range bag right now, but it's got a 4inch Israeli bandage in one of the mag pouches atm.

There is another variation of the TAP, called the Airborne Tactical Assault Panel, trialed by 173rd Airborne a couple of year ago, keep your eyes peeled as some already hit the market, don't know if they finally issued it or are simply getting rid of the experimental ones.
It came to light because both the FLC and the TAP aren't conducive to parachuting. Back when FLC was issued Paratroopers kept on jumping with alice rigs.  They are kept unbuckled and the shoulder straps are loosened all the way so the rig could ride lower than the seat part of the parachute harness. Another popular rig was the tactical tailor mav (again, shoulder straps all loose, the 1 piece version was worn backwards, the 2 piece was kept open).
Natick came with this, with provision to quick loosening the straps to ride the rig comfortably under your rear end.

I picked one up at a gunshow a couple of weeks ago.
Dealer had 15-20 in "used" condition (said they were surplus 82nd Airborne turn-ins)

They were all pretty good shape and identically set up: 2 two mag pouches, 2 three mag pouches a canteen/general 'crapola' pouch and one grenade pouch all for $16.

Haven't had it long enough to truly form an opinion yet but, I pretty sure that it will be perfect for what I would be using it for; mainly just need something to carry a decent supply of mags handily.

Interesting
This concept has been done, before, by many gear-makers.  Unfortunately, the Mil has, as usual, been slow to respond to Soldier/Marine demand, and the savvy aftermarket mfrs have made excellent products far in advance of the items the Mil has issued.  Nothing new.

Wish there was a company that would make some of this stuff. It was well made back then and it worked out great. At least for me.

It's stuff I've had since the early/mid 2000s. Ebay still has woodland stuff, but prices are all over the place.

Given the  "push-back" on the Molle FLC in this thread:https://www.ar15.com/forums/armory/Thinking-About-Universal-Platform-for-Gear-Ammo/10-526894/ perhaps some users of the MOLLE FLC might want ro reconsider their stance.

Or not.  YMMV.

Wasn't really a push back. Was more of a light hearted joking reference to that thread.

FLC definitely still fills a very niche gap and is pretty useful at that. Outside of that, it's debatable (as shown in your thread).
