Quoted: The arisaka type 99 mid war rifle has the wrong rear barrel band which has the sling swivel on the right side. No you cannot just flip the band since the band screw hole is off set. Should I buy the correct band and fix the arsenal mistake. From Google it seems this is not that uncommon for the Japanese to use the wrong rear band in mid war rifles. Or should I leave it alone. Leave it as is. Its part of the rifle's history. |

If it's something documented the Japanese did leave it. Hard core Japanese collectors are anal on correctness of rifles. They have data sheets and all.
