I was looking at getting an engraved Traditions 1858 Remington Revolver. I have never held a traditions revolver in person. Does anyone have one? Are they good? Any issues I need to know about?

I believe Traditions is mostly Pietta. That one should work. Price wise, Cabela's will usually have everyone beat during their bi-yearly sales. At least on the standard blue, non-engraved Pietta 1858's.

You might handle one in person. I find the action on Pietta Remington 1858 revolvers (I have 2) to be gritty. Everything drags. My pair of Pietta 1860 Colt Army's, I find to be a lot smoother to shoot / handle.

I'm readying to jump into the percussion revolver world too - here is a good read on the 1858 New Army

Hoping to check some out at a local show this weekend
