My new James River Armory based M1 Carbine and my CMP 1945 Springfield "Expert" on its 1st range trip since a Fulton Armory tune up.
1st up, the JRA on a 150 round test shoot, testing "new" USGI mags

50 rounds 50 yards bench resting. I needed to tweak the windage a tad but dialed in and figure 18-20 of the rounds are going in the same hole, which is a good thing. 1st mag does well so time for another

50 rounds again 50 yards, 1/2 benched and 1/2 freehand sitting. Mag functions well so I figure another one this Carbine likes

3rd mag test, this is where I have a problem. 1 FTE at round 10 and a "Squib" round on round 39. I caught the squib, had the RSO help me clear the barrel and run the last 10 rounds to check. This mag I marked? and will test again. I noticed some dirt in the slide while I was shooting and think that might have caused the FTE (failure to extract). The squib I figure was ammo, Armscor 30 Carbine I've never had problems with.
Next up, the Garand

6 clips, 48 rounds. I needed to zero it at 50 yards before I play with it at 100 yards next trip.
I go 2 rounds at a time, check were I'm at and walk it from left to right. Of course I tried a major correction right and over dial it, I catch that and get it were it needs to be, I swear the last clip I stitched the "X" ring 12'0 Clock High.
I figure good enough for the day
