Pawn shop pickup today.  Just a Moss 500.  For under $140 out the door, I'm very happy with it.  It's completely disassembled and being cleaned at the moment.

Thought it was cool that it has rifle sights.  I'm going to refinish the furniture.

Been working on a Mossberg 500c 20 gauge I picked up for $200 a couple years ago.

So far I have:
- Swapped the pistol grip for a Mesa Tactical LEO low tube adapter w/ Magpul MOE stock and Hogue over mold pistol grip.
- Added a UTG rail to the receiver.
- Hand polished the bolt (started with 320 grit and worked my way to 3000 grit then buffed out with polish.)
- Added sling swivels.
- Installed a Hogue over mold forend (I had to weld/ grind my stock forend nut to an adapter nut to get this to work on my model, not sure if there was another method, but it worked great.)

Pictures:

I'm planning on getting a Vortex Sparc 2 sight for it and maybe a side saddle shell holder but not sure if I really want all that on there. I like clean and simple for the most part.

Probably going to pick up a few velcro shell cards.

My well used Remington 870.
Vang Comp treatment on the barrel
Trijicon Ghost Ring sights
Vang Comp big dome safety
Vang Comp mag extension
Magpul sling
Hogue 12" lop stock
Old surefire forend with malkoff led insert
some 3-gun gear side saddles (velcro)

Anything with some type of 'flight control wad' with the shot patterns within a standard silhouette at 50yds. Awesome gun.

My 870 Magnum (manuf. in 1987; I emailed Remington and had them check), purchased from Summit Gun Broker. I originally bought this gun as a "Vang Comp 870" and planned to send it to them, along with my barrel, and have them work their magic on the whole thing; it would've basically been a $1000 shotgun by the time they were done. I ended up letting it sit in the safe as I was spending all my time going cave diving and not shooting.

Came with a Speedfeed pistol grip stock, which I hated so I swapped it out for the Magpul stock. The Surefire forend currently doesn't work (P60 bulb burned out before I ever got it), I'd rather have one of the MOE forends and an Inforce WML because it's way better looking to me, but I may be needing to keep the Surefire forend anyways for use on a possible work shotgun so I've got my eye on a Malkoff tube and light head to replace the factory one and make the forend useful again. I guess I could buy another incandescent bulb just so I had a workable light right now, even if it is only 65 lumens.

Current setup:

Vang Comp +1 extension
Magpul SGA stock
Surefire 618 forend
Sidesaddle plate (covering with Velcro and buying an Esstac shotgun card)
18.5" barrel

Future plans:

- Form 1, cut barrel to 14" and have Vang Comp work their magic on the barrel (including porting)
- Cerakote receiver/barrel/extension OD green
- Install an XS Big Dot Tritium night sight (just the single bead)
- Vang Comp velcro sidesaddle
- Magpul MOE forend
- Inforce Rifle WML

After just recently waiting 298 days for an eFiled Form 1 (SBR), I'm not really feeling a lot of desire to send the ATF another $200 and letting the paperwork sit in their hands for what would likely be over a year, but that's what the next step would need to be if I was to proceed with the build on a logical timeline. Better to pay it now and spend that year hunting down a source for a 14" barrel or figuring out where I'll send mine to be cut down, and buying the rest of the parts so the whole thing is ready to be sent off to Vang Comp after the stamp comes back.

The action is also sticking (doesn't get STUCK, but feels like it takes a good shove to get the pump arm moving forward again, like when you're trying to walk in deep muck) when the arm is brought all the way back. I'm wondering if I might have the sideplate that's on it now screwed down just a little too tight?

Wow.   We were in Liberia with the 26MEU in 90-91.   Looks like they carried the exact same equipment back into that mess in 2003.   Everything except the boots that is.   Our boots were black.  I would have expected more upgrades after over a decade.    The really scary part is the helicopters.   Most of the CH-46E's that we flew were older than I was.   Ten years later they were still flying CH-46's?

870 with a rifled barrel and a Slug hunter 3x9. This thing is a nail driver. Like driving nails with a sledgehammer. I'm looking for some synthetic furniture and possibly a cerakote job so it stops rusting.

I’ve experienced that when the foreend geta a Little pinched between the tube and barrel. It doesn’t take much.  With my speedfeed on my tac-14, i had to sand the inside lip of the forearm plastic a bit. It fixed it right up, from taking a hark pull to move the action forward, to butter slick.

To test, take the foreend off the action bar tube, and try working the action without the plastic.

Picked up a Mossberg 930 JM Pro Series 12 gauge last night from Shoot Straight in Clearwater. Pretty sure my wallet is somewhere attending rape counseling right now but I don't care, it shoots awesome and I can't wait to take it to the range on Tuesday to shoot clays with it.

Traded for this old but near mint High Standard riot gun.
I always head people say the old shotguns were so much smoother and nicer than newer ones.  I never believe it till I racked and dry fired this.

Here is my little Tromix modified Saiga, also with it's friend the Tac-14. If I remember correctly, it has an eight inch barrel. It's a real shame that Tromix is out of the modified Saiga game. The shotgun will handle the cheapest Walmart low brass shells, all the way up to slugs and buck. I have never had a hiccup with it.

I've always wanted one of those Tromix SBS's.  So unique and looks like a lot of fun.

I won this in a raffle on Black Friday at my local shop.  I highly recommend doing business with Windsor Armory in NoCO if ever given the chance.

I'm not big on shotguns but I needed this one!

Not very handy with 32" barrels but I have another set that is destined to be cut down.
