My 870 Police Magnum. My surefire foregrip and new mag extension are on the way. I'm sure there will be more that I want to do to it in the future, but after these new parts get put on I'll be finished changing it. At least for a day or two.

Yay! I finally get to play... even with my humble contributions.

Top - Light Wood: Remington 870 Magnum 24" - Project Gun ($200)
Bottom - Dark Wood: Remington 870 Magnum Wingmaster 26" - Inherited from my Grandfather, will stay as is with NO modifications; the way he liked it: including the homemade leather strap ($0)

I picked up the shorter one today from a friendly pawn shop. This thing looks brand-new, it's amazing. Haven't had a chance to fire it yet. Anyway, I've got some Hogue grips on the way, and I'll be adding some Norells to it to make it look as good as it should... then I'll probably sell it to match my losses. I just wanted something to tinker with for a few days.

The long one from my grandfather was his only pump-action in a collection of over 70 guns. This thing shoots like a dream, I love it and highly reccomend an 870 to anyone thinking of buying!

Thanks for letting me play!

Your IM is not turned on, so I posted the answer to the thread:

M1A1TankerTom,

hey man, was going through the shotgun picture thread and saw your pic.  I love the shotgun on the top of the pic.  Was wondering what stock you are using and what type of sights you have.  Thanks for any help.

Hi, is it the one on page 37?..It's an FN Tactical police shotgun, it came with an Ar type collapsible stock and sights...thanks..John

My modded NEF Pardner Pump (Turkey):

Besides cutting the stock, I added a rail for a Surefire 650 w/ TDI mount, I replaced the stock TruGlow low profile sights, for another model that sat higher, replaced the turkey choke with a modified cylinder, and added the scope rail (not sure if I want to add an optic - but I want the option).

I've also got an 18" barrel for it, I should get a pic with that as well.

More details, please...I LOVE the way this looks!

I traded off a couple of very cool rifles to get a 1986 Browning A5 Magnum Twelve 30" bbl. / 3" Mag.
It's got the flat-knob stock on it ( which matches my BAR MkII Safari w/BOSS in 7mm Rem.Mag very nicely ).
I've seen either the gun shown above or one like it and think I'd like to make one someday.

Parts are available!
I'd like to hear more about the magazine extension...

Back with a photo facsimile of the one I bought ---

Cool, I didn't know NEF made guns like that.  Just curious because you've allways seemed pretty anti shotgun.  Do you have that for actual hunting or for three gun?  If it's the later are you going to find a mag extention for it?  Anyway sweet boomstick.

That one is for 'sport' use, mostly 3-gun and the occasional sporting clays.  If is can I'll find an 18" barrel for 3-gun otherwise I'll keep the 22" barrel on it so the sporting clays facility will let me use it.

Remington magazine extensions are supposed to fit, I plan on getting a single round extension.

Well the gun strated as a A5 Stalker magnum not many of them around in the first place. I found a bent used barrel that was usable of corse. Had it cut to 18 1/8 long ,park to match, and found a Choate ext. that is not made anymore. Added a Hi-Vis comp sight and now it is done.

Details: Base gun is an 18" bead sighted barrel Remington 870 Express HD with factory mag tube extention. Added parts are Hogue/Knoxx Compstock, Eagle Rifle Stock Shooter's Pad (holds 5 extra rounds outside and a boresnake and small bottle of gun oil inside), Vang Oversized Safety Button, Trijicon/Scattergun Ghost Ring Sights w/tritium, Wilson Combat/Scattergun follower, Tac-Star sidesaddle, and Surefire's 918FA fore end with Millenium Series 9 volt light.

I call her Betsy or the perfect shotgun.

This is my Benelli M1.  I use it for the 'training' and 'Tactical' division in 3 gun competition.  I got in on a trade 2yrs ago and have since put the rifle style stock on it (easier to reload on the clock) and traded the factory posted rifle sighted barrel for the ghost ring non ported barrel.  I had my gunsmith install the MMC rear ghost ring sight.

Remington 870 Express 20" magnum fully-rifled barrel with rifle sights and a collapseable 6-position stock and AR-style pistol grip.  Magazine extension allows for seven shells.  Two side-saddles, one on left-side of receiver (barely visible underneath the firearm) and one on the stock (6 and 5 shell carriers, respectively).

I know you're thinking "Why a fully-rifled barrel with 00 buckshot?"  Well it came with the shotgun when I bought it, and I am in the middle of swapping it for the exact same barrel only smooth bore and with night sights with another AR15.com forum member.  Ultimately, it will appear the same as it does currently in the photo, but will function a whole lot better.

With a shell in the chamber, this weapon is capable of carrying 19 shells.  Add the pictured bandolier, and it becomes 68 shells total.

MS-13, bring it on.

Gunsite Custom 870 (MMC ghostring sights, Sidesaddle, Vang-Comped barrel to include ports, sling swivel in the pistol grip, Surefire 618)

11-87 (Choate extended charging handle on it, factory +2 extenstion)

Remington 870 (2 shot extension, Hogue overmolded stock 12" LOP, Sidesaddle, Specter MOUT sling)

Both 870s have federal tactical buck in the tubes and Hydrashok slugs in the Sidesaddles. The 11-87 hasnt been shot yet (only had it a week or so), so I dont know what will and wont function in it.

The Gunsite 870 and the plate carrier I lug around at work.

Are you running that vest with your shotgun, or is that for display purposes only? If so what are you running in the mag pouches to carry you shells?

I was doing a T&E for Gear Sector's ASP-V on my M4.  I had a stock stub for the 590 so that I could just try it out on the chest rig.  I generally don't take the shottie anywhere, although when I did I had about 12 nylon strips made with elastic loops on them.  Each holds 7 rounds of 12 gauge and has a paracord loop on one end.  Each is about the size of a 30 round mag, so they fit in AR mag pouches.  When I needed to reload I would just pull one of the carriers out and reload the tube.  Very slow, but it let me use the same gear for ARs and shotties.  I also had some dedicated shotgun gear that made reloading a little quicker, but with the carrier strips I could jsut put them in AR pouches and not have to transfer a lot of gear.
