Mine was approved June 6th. I’m hoping it’s takes 28 days to get here after a 314 day wait for approval.

That’d be July 4th, a/k/a “Independence Day” which I’d find highly ironic.

Using Past History it's usually taken about 2 weeks from APPROVAL to receive the Form 4.
So you might get it this week.

Is there any sort of expiration date or age limit of filled out fingerprint cards? If I have the Sheriffs office print out 10 copies can I just keep them on hand to send out as needed?

I'm approaching 340 days. At this rate, I hope it slows down a touch and maybe I'll get batch approved for my summer promo Octane.

Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket because it came in today. I would have gotten it sooner as it was postmarked 6/11, but the dealer moved between purchase and approval and there was a snafu with forwarding it to their new address

I bought my first suppressor on the 4th of July last year, I was just approved two days ago.

My stamp will probably arrive at the dealer around the 4th of July, this year.

That's a whole year.

This is not exactly motivating me to purchase another one, but I may look at building one and going the F1 route.

Just called ATF and mine is approved. Check cashed on July 18. Looks like it'll be right at a year by the time I receive my stamp. My free Octane showed up yesterday, so the party started all over again for me today. I think I'm going to buy a .22 suppressor to hopefully get near the same time.

The BATFE cashed my check for the Sandman-S this week so I should be shooting suppressed any day now, right?!?

Seriously though, I'm attempting to convince myself that applying as an individual helps speed things up at least a little because this 11-12 month nonsense is tough to swallow. (I bought a full-auto 25-ish years ago and the wait as an individual was about 3 months)

My dealer also runs training courses a few times a year.  If he happens to receive the silencer from Silencer Shop before the next course, he says he'll let me try it out that weekend.  It's my first can, so hopefully it doesn't suck because that'll take the "fun" out of the long wait after the course.

submitted form 1 via e file on june 8th, prints sent same day. It just pisses me off that a background checks takes so long for some, and not for others. I have a pretty spotless record so I have no idea why it's taking so long. They have my social security number...

Bought an AEM5 from DSG Arms back in 2017. F3 to my dealer was approved 2 april 17, DSG received the approval 3 April and shipped the can. Dealer received it, logged, called me in, we did the paperwork, got everything mailed late may (issues getting with fingerprinter friend).

November 2018 I get the whole packet back in the mail......was "lost" for a fucking year and a half. GOOD FUCKING JOB USPS. Well at least the check was safe. Voided it out and RE accomplished the paperwork, check cashed in February this year and they just told me over the phone they "briefly lost track" of my paperwork. So it'll be 20 fucking 20 before i get the can.

Three fucking years.

Unfuckingreal.

That does seem strange, that no one has posted a recent Form 1 approval.  I'm coming up on 3 weeks since they received my prints, for an eform 1.  I guess I'll give them another week or two, and call.

Looks like there is a wait time difference now between individual and trusts. On a few of the "approval tracking threads" in here and on other sites it seems most individuals are getting approvals from September time frame with ~300-320 day wait time while Trusts are still at 350+ days and are just getting into August pending dates.

The below graph shows the same trend. This is a difference that hasn't been around since Sept of 2017. Wonder what the deal is now?

This chaps my ass as someone with a 314 day pending on a trust.

Link Posted: 7/25/2019 4:17:13 PM EDT

I'm not sure that graph is accurate anymore.  It hasn't shown a form 4 trust approval in weeks.  I logged in my form 4 trust approval the other day, and it is not reflected on that graph.

Approved 6/26/2019, took their time mailing them out, received at my dealer(s) on 7/8/2019.

Total from check cashed to my FFL/SOT's mailboxes: 468 days, for my oldest submittals.

The NFA Branch did a batch approval of everything I had outstanding, approving forms submitted as recently as March of this year.

So long fellas. Good luck.

How many pending stamps did you have to get a batch approval? I’ve heard you need ten plus for them to batch them.

When you email ask the experts how long does it take for them to get back to you? I was just approved last week on a efile form1. I emailed them Saturday and asked if they can batch approve my other 4 form4s since they just ran me. It’s been five days and no email back.

@BigWaylon, can you give more detail on this certification?

I have one suppressor at 322 days on my trust. I have two more after that at 230 and 200. If I clear the first one soon I’d like to do anything I can to speed up the other two.

Does this certification mean potentially a few less days of an examiner messing around with the other two.

Does anyone know if Nfatracker.com is accurate at all? According to NFAtracker for paper form 4s from purchase to stamp in hand should be 287 days. From looking at the approved for 4 thread here it appears to be much longer than that.

Any idea what the discrepancy is?

If you're taking about the average wait time graph, it's based on a 12 month rolling average, so much shorter approval times from the second half of 2018 are pulling the average down to lower than it really is today.

FYI, on NFA Tracker you can look at the 12-month average, 3-month average, transfers approved in the last 30 days, and filter the main "Wait Times" tab to see the individual approvals making up the average. Using the 3-month average is a quick way to get more of an accurate representation of current wait times, while looking at the main "Wait Times" tab filtered for your specific type can give you a more detailed view and a rough idea of the current trend.

From a quick glance, it looks like individual F4s (for example) peaked with wait times around a year and currently seems to be slowly trending downward. Hopefully, that'll continue.
