Got my repro Kerr today for the 1917 unBubba project. It's too short. Apparently you need to look for the "long" Kerr due to the distance between the 1917's sling swivels. I did find a guy making repro long Kerrs on eBay.

But damn if I'm not impressed with the design. You can adjust it just as fast as any modern 2 point sling, can tighten it up to a parade sling very quickly, and can set up a loop sling without removing the clip from the rear of the buttstock.

Neat.

The one you have is probably for a Thompson SMG.

That's what it looks like. I might still keep it around.

Now you have an excuse to buy a Thompson.

More like an excuse to leave a review on Numrich.

I'm pretty intrigued by this. You can use it sort of like a Ching sling, but can tighten it up around your bicep.

If memory serves there are three lengths.....Thompson, '03, and M1917.

I bought one off of ebay a while ago and put it on my 590. I like the way the sling adjusts, and it will adjust down to a good parade sling. I am thinking about putting a Kerr sling on my 03A3 also.

I've always preferred the Kerr sling to the leather slings.

When I shoot in the summer/warm weather I sweat.  When I sweat that dang leather sling sticks to my skin like it's glued.  Fight it to slide it up on my bicep, fight it to get it in the right spot, fight it to get it off my bicep.  The Kerr sling, or a GI web sling is easy to slide on/off my arm.

Kerr sling is easily best sling...

So easy to adjust, I love it.

AFAIK the sling has two lengths...the original sling which will have the patent dates, etc on the buckles...you could use it on either the 17 or 03, you just had to do an extra loop on the 03 for the shorter length.

The M1 Thompson sling did not have the patent info on the buckles, they were blank IIRC.

If you wan t a real nightmare, try fucking with the M1923 sling....
