I could not be happier with how it all turned out. I appreciate each and every one of you who gave advice and input along the way (in the previous thread and this one). Total time to completion was about almost a year thanks to my work being so busy. But here it is

Vault Room? What Vault Room?

that's formed poured concrete. I'm just wondering if he used #4s throughout.

I do somewhere and I meant to post pics of it, but I can't find them. I hope I didnt delete them.

The walls and ceiling are 8 inches thick poured concrete.

I paid a contractor to do it and he used a decent amount of rebar (I think). I believe it was an 8 inch grid and I won't pretend to know what #4 means.

It was. I ordered the Magnum Extreme Deluxe from Smith Security and had them install it. I'm glad I did too because it took 4 of us to get it in place before the installer worked on it.

Hopefully the Vault door and concrete keep me safe from fire. There is a 4 inch hole attached to a vent in a strategic place that should provide air. Comms is a great failure. It is something I could still work in thanks to the air vent, but when the door is closed, there is zero cell service. Internet from my router does work in the vault however. I know that's not ideal if the electric goes out.

There is a handle on the inside that will let me out in regular situations. The vault door is I swing, so if there is a tornado, my door should still open at the end.

That is incredible. Do you have some sort of construction background or did you just "wing" that? Honestly, that is really impressive.

I shimmed a door last week so it would close properly, so there's that.

Outstanding.

BTW, what is your opinion on the Magnum Extreme Deluxe?

No need to have a lot of iron in the walls, it's not like it's a bank vault. As a former Ironworker, I can say from experience that a bank vault would be drastically over-designed. # 4s 8" on center is quite adequate for your purposes it holds the concrete in place and stiffens the walls and ceiling. A #4 is approximately 1/2 inch in diameter.

looks like a job well done. I am quite envious.

That looks amazing OP.  I'm hoping to close on a house soon and am looking for ideas on how to do a vault in the basement.  What is the size of the room?  And if you don't mind me asking, about how much did the concrete pour cost?

Yes, they pumped it in. It was pretty slick I thought.

I do have a construction background and do all types of construction activities all day for work.

I love it so far. It is unbelievably heavy and carries some momentum after you start opening it. If you are wanting that door, I recommend having a bar handle put on the outside of it. I didn't know that was even an option until the installer said Smith puts them on there if requested.

The room is 12x13 on the inside. I paid a little over $13k for the concrete. I'm not sure if that is a good price or not, I have used the same guy for concrete for about a decade now. It seemed fair to me and I didn't feel like getting bids from a bunch of contractors I didn't know to have this kind of thing done if you know what I mean.

I will have completed product pictures hopefully within the next week or two. I have everything just about wrapped up in there, I just want to take some high quality photos with a wide angled lens to share with you guys. Guns are hanging as well and It looks awesome

Very nice something like what I want to do. What was cost of the door? The hook panel walls to mount guns on what band is it your using? What is the cost of it all so far? I plan on doing something like this but I need to go bigger lol. Design plans and ideas be great.

Looks great.  For all looking, THIS is how you add a room to an existing house.  Good job OP.

What I like the most is the corner shelf units to join the walls, looks great and functional.  Very nice.
