Here's the thing, if you are buying it as a collectors piece then that's fine. If you are buying it as a shooter find out if parts are available in case of breakage before you buy it. I have a buddy who has an old Mauser pistol that you can not get parts for and he wants to put it in firing order. So make sure why you want it first.

A little bit of both I guess. It certainly interest me because of collecting and it's obscurity.

However I do shoot all of my collectables.

Not much mind you.

Been on a 32 pistol kick lately, I think I'm up to six.  Depending on price, I'd certainly be interested in that one.  You do need to consider parts, especially mags.

Eh, this kinda gun I'm good with a single mag. Don't get me wrong, I prefer more, but I don't sweat it if they're hard to get or expensive. I want to shoot it, but I don't want to shoot hundreds of rounds without reloading like I do with some guns.

I'm not going to the range and reloading a mag for a Glock, a CZ, a Beretta, a 1911... you get the idea. But for an 100+ year old pistol... I'll reload 'em.

They are so so.  Not something I loved shooting just weird.  The round isn't exactly a power house.  I owned one for a bit, bought it out of a buddies estate.  It was police unit marked to a German unit in the 20s.  I sold it for about what I had in it iirc about $350 4 yrs ago.

not unfair..

My most recent purchases have been this and a frommerstop..  Ive got so many wiz bang modern guns im just dedicated to buying things that arent made. After your 20th some AR its just boring.. So finding weird things.

If i drop 500 rounds through this thing before i die ill be shocked.

This was the frommer. She's at the refinisher.. I expect some hate on that choice. But she was sketchy.

Are you having it blued, parked, or cera/dura-coated?  I have zero qualms refinishing a beat up firearm that isn't worth a fortune.

Absolutely.

They have done a series 70 1911. A delta. Currently working on a rusted out Winchester model 12 and the frommerstop..

They also did a custom job and made a 1911 for my daughter.

I bought one of these recently.  Not nearly as nice.  I don't think I have taken any pictures of it yet.

I think, if I'm not confusing it with something else, that the magazines for an FN 1900 work in these.

Damnit, I've been on the lookout for a Frommer Stop for about 3 years now.

The final finish looks odd. Have any clue as to the materrial those were made from? May just be your lighting. But it just looks off.
I came into my father's Femaru M37 after he passed away. The finish was in terrible condition. I parkerized it and found that the Hungarians did a lot of induction heat treating on pistols. The parkerizing showed the induction heat treated areas very clearly.
I may strip it and send it to be blued.

Unsure of the metal but it's a blued finish. Shows some pitting and wear. The flash brings it out.

The frommer certainly had issues with the finish. As you mentioned the heat treatment. I sent it off to get it re-blued
