Filing the form 1 to SBS my tac13. I’d like to use a factory 870 synthetic stock when approved. Question I have and can’t seem to find an answer is, does the factory stock 870 screw work or is there a different length screw I need?

I searched hi and low and can’t find an answer.

Tac 13 will need a vmaxstock, 1187 may work. 870, not so much.

870 stock will work, it has a adapter already on it for the birds head grip. Question is the bolt to mount it.

Tac 13 is a semi, it already has the adapter, this is how it comes from the factory. It’s a v3 to 870 adapter that the birds head grip is attached with. The 870 Magpul stock will work and the bolt needed is 1/4x28-2.5”, looking for the bolt length needed for the  Remington factory synthetic 870 stock.

yes, long bolt with a large washer. Off the top of my head it's the same length as the 11-87/1100 recoil tube thats in the stock - some 870s come with 1187 compatible stocks.

2 lengths available

Thank you, I searched and couldn’t come up with much other than 870 stocks will work, but not the 870 bolt, to short from what I read.

Entirely possible you'll need something a little longer due to the adapter and if the threaded portion of the receiver is internal etc
Buy a 12" piece of all thread in the correct thread pitch, cut to length and use a jam nut.

the Boyds website says its 1/4x28TPI
https://www.amazon.com/Threaded-Rods-Studs-1-4-28/s?keywords=Threaded+Rods+%26+Studs&rh=n%3A16410711%2Cp_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A11433969011&c=ts&ts_id=16410711

Maybe take the current bolt and verify the Tac13 uses a 1/4x28 TPI bolt before buying the all thread.
I see you already addressed this.

Magpul looks like the easiest option for a 870 stock. Best option would be to just go with a V3 stock and get the necessary parts, looked into that also. Only issue there is stock choices, there aren’t many,

I installed a Sage Ultralight collapsible stock on a Turkish semi auto, made an adapter similar to the TAC13 one and bought the right thread/length bolt. You just need to get creative with whatever stock you choose.

Nice, I’ll have some time to figure it out while I’m waiting for the stamp. I will be going with a standard stock, either a factory 870, Magpul 870 or a V3.

I put the V3 stock set on my Tac SBS, and I'm really happy with how it came out.  I think an 870 stock would be fine, making a bolt to work for odd combos isn't hard, its a common thread.  On my Fightlite I used all thread and cut to length for a couple of the configurations its had over the years.  It looks like a dealer in Canada has some stocks still.  https://ellwoodepps.com/remington-stock-fore-end-v3-mossy-oak-blades.html
