March 1993 manufacture Springfield M1A. All parts TRW except for receiver, HRA oprod, and (unkown mfg) Hawk's dummy selector.

Nice rifle you have there!

Mine has all Winchester parts minus receiver, and barrel.  I need a dummy selector kit though.

Wow sir.  That is really nice.  You really have the clone guns on full bore.  Very nice M1A.  That is also a fantastic picture.

So nice well done sir !!

I'd really like to own an early s/n M1A with GI parts.
Love the ventilated hand guard !!

Was actually searching for one but stumbled across a minty
Springfield SAR-48 FAL at the local pawn shop and they made me an offer so low I had to buy it.

Maybe in a couple years I'll be able to get another M14 clone.

Build your own, get a USGI M14 parts kit and buy a receiver from manufacture of your choice

That is exactly what I want to build my future M1A into.  But I'd prefer to find an older ratty M1A than a new made one.

I actually lucked out and found it here on ARF. I didn't know it was a TRW, but was looking for an NOS dark walnut one.

This one was flawless, likely a direct armory take-off when they switched to synthetic. It was pretty matte, so I gave it a linseed oil treatment and a very very very light sanding.

Has the USGI and proof marks, and upon inspection of the handguard retaining ring, there's a "dot" stake instead of a horseshoe type. Looking inside the trapdoor area, there are no markings whatsoever. Both of these are reminiscent of a TRW stock from what I understand.

So yeah, definitely didn't know it was a TRW when I bought it, but lucked out big time.

Thanks,

Every time I'm around an M14 clone with a GI barrel I always check the date.

Would be cool to find one built in my birth month of Feb 62.

All three of mine are GI parts, 2 4 digits and one in the 40K range. Older ones are definitely better with GI bits.

I can easily find M1A's, however, they are almost always chock full of newer non GI parts so good score OP!
