This forum is the place to talk about legal, federally registered M16s, registered-receiver AR15 conversions, registered Drop-In Autosears (RDIAS) and registered Lightning Links. Discussion of other items covered by the National Firearms Act --other Machine Guns, Short-Barreled Rifles, Short-Barreled Shotguns, Destructive Devices, Any Other Weapons and Silencers (suppressors) -- should be posted in their respective forums.
In addition to the Forum Conduct Code that governs all of AR15.COM, we have one cardinal rule:No questions about or discussion of anything illegal.
This means no questions like:
"Where do I drill the hole for the auto disconnector?"
"What parts are needed to convert my AR15 to an M16?"
"If I file off my sear, will my AR15 run full-auto?"
PLEASE do not try the "I would never do this, I just want to know how it's done" routine.
Also prohibited are links to other web sites that publish information on illegal conversions.Follow the advertising rules.
We are having a rash of new site members in this forum which is a good thing. A reminder is given that only Site sponsoring dealers and Industry Partners are allowed advertising outside the Equipment Exchange. Please all stop advertising your commercial websites in your posts and signature lines, and don't post your want to sell adds in posts or in your signature lines, also press release type posts for products. That is why the NFA section of the Equipment Exchange is provided: ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=7&f=118What is allowed:
--Discussion of anything NFA-related. If you're thinking of buying it, we'll try to help you see the pros and cons. If you already own it, we'll help you keep it running, or make it run better.
--Posting pictures of anything NFA and info on NFA shooting events. For those new to the NFA world:
The NFA owners who post here are more than willing to help out newbies. We welcome questions about all the details involved in legally purchasing NFA items, right down to exactly how to fill out all the forms that are required by BATF. We'll take you through the process step-by-step.
NFA can be a pretty complicated hobby, so there really are no stupid questions. Just don't ask how to do anything illegal.
