@HK_MARK23 where are you located in TX? I want to add as many options I can to my comparison.

In the pics I’m using new cr123s.  I ordered a new pair of good 18650s for long term use.

Here are the IR lights that I have to test with. The two on the far left are UniqueFire T20 zoomies with Osram Oslon IR 6LEDs that i flowed on the the star boards, 3rd from left is an EagleTac T20C2 with Oslon Platimun Dragon IR drop in, 2 Enforce white/IR WMLs, a Petzl Strix wit IR, and a SureFire M600 that has an IR drop in from Protac as well as a white light drop in also.

I sliced the dome off one of the Osram Oslon emitters because i accidently touched it and it fogged up. I does make the throw a little different

Looks like you have a big variety. Did you build the modules with the Olson LEDs? I ordered a drop in from customlites with a Olson LED. It was built with a SFH 4715ASEA LED. I checked the specs on it and it should be good. I had also considered one with the dragon LED. I’m curious how much the difference is on the red glow between the 850nm and 940nm. From what I understand the throw is much less with the 940 vs the 850.

Yes, I ordered the emitters from Mouser Electronics, the PCB "star" boards i got off Mountain Electronics, and the T20s off amazon.

Thank you for posting the photos. The drop in seems to be much brighter at that distance. It’s hard to tell against the trees if the beam on the drop in is better defined. Can you take a photo of the beam on a wall? Is there a big difference in the visable glow between the two?

Here are the pics of V1 vs Sportac Solarforce light beam profile against a building.  The building is about 35 yards away in these pics.

I have to say the SporTac is looking good. Nice clean hotspot and good spill. Not bad at all for the price.

Yeah.  I'm into the host for $20 and $30 for the drop in.  We'll see how long it lasts.

Honestly getting a Solarforce IR bulb to use in another body seems...Odd.

You can get a full Solarforce setup for about 30 bucks. Thats a complete turn key light, just need to drop in batteries. Its what I use and I'm quite happy with it. Hell, I like Solarforce so much I actually also use a standard unit with regular bulb for my rifle competitions at night.

I need to get some photostat of the one I just got against my V1 and the fenix. The local park by my house is okay. Just a few too many house lights close. I have another spot to try out before I post up an invite in the HTF.
