That long rail has beautiful milling. That's a really well thought out design

No shit. I got all excited to get one for my AUG. Then interest rapidly declined after seeing the price

Bought their accessory rail recently. It’s certainly good quality. I’m liking it so far.

What I really want is their new trigger pack.

Jesus Christ. Don't go price out factory Steyr parts or you'll have a heart attack.

Turns out shit made in Europe is expensive. Who knew?

Negative. Looks like a threaded USR barrel with thread protector. Also it would be very humorous to use a Schmidt & Bender 3-12x PMII on a 9mm.

Its the version without a functioning gas system for Britain, look at his flag icon. Probably pretty similar to the USR.

Factory Steyr for the AUG Z - a sporter version of the AUG for Europe.

20” inch, chrome-lined, 1-9” twist rate, threaded at 1/2X20” UNF.

They’re stamped .223 Rem, but I’m fairly certain it’s a 5.56 chamber.

Ah, LOL I didn’t see the location.

I believe the AUG-Z used the USR barrel. AUG-Z always intrigued me.

How is your barrel marked? 9xxAUG..... or 9xxUSR....? Does the gasblock/grip support have the capability of accepting a standard AUG piston, spring and gas valve? Or has the ability to install these been obviated?

More permanent set-up with a Versapod mount, although this bipod is a Parker Hale.

SP0XXX, date code, proof marks. So, model designated SP for straight-pull.

These straight-pull versions of self-loading firearms have to be deemed 'not readily convertible' to be sold here, so there's various omitted parts and sometimes modifications. Steyr is very zealous about this - I recently learned that they consider the barrel QD button as an illegal conversion part.

This is the front of the gas block:

The serial number designation is quite similar to the 9mm kits that were imported a while back.

Your gasblock is the old 9mm style. Can you date your gun by the 3 digit alphanumeric code?

I bought a stock protector on Ebay for 16 bucks, right handed so I don't have to worry about the cases hitting me.

Interesting. I believe there is a 9X19mm sporter available in Europe. Yes, around September 2007.
