All, for those of you on the look out for a good soft shell jacket and wind shirt thats both IR and gear compliant - I can recommend the SORD Rampart jacket and the Platatac Silks Alpha wind shirt.  For those that don't know these guys manufacture for AUS SOCOMD units.  

The Rampart jacket is made from a US manufactured light-weight dura stretch, multi-directional stretch fabric, has hood, zips in the correct positions for carriers, under pit zips for cooling, short cut for belt access and hood for when it gets wet.  Moreover its nice and quiet.  

The Silks Alpha wind shirt is very light-weight and is lined with light-weight Polartec, these two paired with a merino base layer form a well fitted non-bulky solution for many situations.  Very good bang for buck. Pics below.
