Besides the Steve's Gunz DVD, anyone recommend a good DIY video or guide to smooth out the action of a Rossi 92?  With the dozen or so videos on youtube, various authors have different approaches and methods. The last thing I want to do is jack it up and try to get replacement parts from Brazil.

This doesn't directly answer your question, but it seems to have very good suggestions about improving an already good rifle.

Steve is known a the 'Rossi Specialist' in the CASS world for a good reason and having used his DvD to slick up 3 Rossis, I'd suggest you don't cheap out and get his kit for $58 which includes the reduced power ejector spring and steel mag follower.  It's worth it's weight in gold.

THIS  made a huge improvement in my .357.  Like night and day.  Much better trigger as well.  Most difficult part was doing the ejector spring but it probably made the most difference.

I went with Steve's kit for my .357 and could not be happier!

I have had a lot of Rossi lever guns.  I change out the hammer spring and just shoot it a lot.  Cycling the action smooths it out. The first one I had I asked a SASS gunsmith about smoothing it out more.  It was smooth enough already that all he did was change the spring and smooth out the lever detent pin a bit.

The one I currently have has no mods at all.  Plenty smooth right out of the box.

Buying a bunch of videos probably isn't what you need, especially if you don't know what you are trying to achieve.  Just shoot it and cycle the action a lot.

I agree.   Only mods Ive done to mine are Sights. Trimmed the mag spring. And removed a burr from the loading gate.

First thing I did was brake cleaner flush and spray oil.

Its really smoothed out nicely.

YouTube videos are more than adequate to get it apart and together again.

Also m&m gunsmithing in hazel green, AL has nearly all Rossi parts available.

Don't waste your money on videos and springs, just shoot it a lot and it'll get broken in fast.

I need to add that the better ejector spring kept from sending my spent cases into orbit.  Now they end up in a nice little pile at my feet.  I reload so it really helps to keep all my brass.

Very nice!  I have 2 just like it, a 357 and a 44.  Both of mine have been to visit Steve Young for the safety delete and other upgrades.

Have you done any stock refinishing on these?  I need to get off my butt and do mine, they both could use it.
