I've been looking around for a copy and there seem to be several versions and reprints. I don't like reprints and would prefer a used copy of one of the original printings. The one I see most often is the 1961 revised edition (again usually a reprint). Is this the one to get or keep looking for the 1955 version (costs more)? Are there others? Reprints are the cheapest but reviews seem to suggest they aren't well done. Is there a particularly good edition I should look for? Thanks.

The benefit of the 1961 version is it has info about the .44 Magnum which Keith was a huge part of.

Not sure which version my copy is.

It came from a friend after he passed, left in his will to me.
Has a unique twist - as it is a signed copy - with a photo pasted inside of Keith signing it in the presence of my friends friend (he'd emigrated from the UK to the US/Canada & met Keith at a gunshow)

Sixguns is a great read by itself....though I got some strange looks when I used my BP revolver for the first time at the range...seems his recipe for .36 cap & ball was toward the pokey end of the spectrum.

ETA: Get on ABEBOOKS & see what the dealers have available = you can search by year, binding, edition, etc.

This is not a reloading thread, so I'm moving it to GD. Good luck.

Since the book covers reloading info and is often recommended in the reloading forum I don't see why it's not reloading related.

Great book, the Later revised edition has the 44 Magnum information. It does contain reloading data but it is all pretty outdated due to the changes in some of the powders Keith used.
