Got a front sight on a s&w Shield that is being a pita, please recomend a good sight pusher that doesn't cost an arm and a leg

NcSTAR front and rear sight pusher got the job done for me.  Make sure you soak the sight in penetrating oil like PB blaster before drifting or pushing it out.  Makes the job easier.  I also grease the threads of the sight pusher to make it easier to turn and tighten the handles first

Mine is very similar... same idea and mechanism.  Has worked for all the different sites/guns I've needed it for.  Even the taller "tactical" sites on the HK guns.

Given the shitty quality of NCStar products I was skeptical when I bought one. To my surprise, it worked really well on a Glock slide.  If I was a gunsmith, I'd probably buy something else, but for my needs, it was worth the money

Agreed I think this is probably one of their more decent enthusiast products.  I would invest in something higher quality if you were doing this more often but how often does someone change their sights?

This is true.  They have several models, and they are quite good.  While NC Star caters to an airsoft like customer, they have done well in the last 3 or so years with tools that just make sense, and are built well enough.

I originally purchased one of the OG universal from Fisher Solutions many years ago (gold pic below).  It actually worked well for multiple handguns.  I then purchased the MGW Pro which is considerably more.  It is a fantastic tool and if I had to do it again, was not pressed for $$, would get the MGW.  There are numerous options now that look like they would work well.

I am a fan of the Kuber Sight pusher. Well made and works much better than my fisher solutions one.

NC Star also makes a sight pusher that pushes BOTH front an rear sights.

If you have a dovetail front sight that needs pushing, this looks like a good tool, and for only a few dollars more than the rear-sight-only tool.

(BTW, the rear-sight-only tool worked perfectly to remove the rear sight on the TISAS 1911, and to install the aftermarket adjustable sight.)

This is the best tool out there for doing multiple types of guns. You dont NEED the specific shoe for every gun, but if you will be doing a bunch of that type of gun, it makes it easier with the proper shoe.

I recently bought the NcStar Vism lower receiver vice block.  The one that is made specifically for tightening the castle nut on carbine buffer tubes. I was surprised by how well it works and how robust it is. It is at least 2 pounds of aluminum. Because of that, I might try their sight pusher.

I have one of these branded as "Vism".  It is surprisingly well made for the meager cost.  It works well.
