Ive had two rifles built through him. HK 91 clone and a Izzy Imbel clone. I have him doing another as we speak. Going to be an Imbel kit on a Dan Coonan made up with the Rhodesian Camo job. Can’t wait

He's rather gruff, but a good guy. His avatar on FAL Files for years was him in his shop with a stern look on his face, pointing something at the camera. The joke was that no matter what Mark typed in a post, the avatar was fitting for his tone in his post
 He also had a hilarious bio on his website in the 2000s, I think it was supposed to be written by his mother. One part said "the Army thought so highly of Mark's potential for leadership that they promoted him to PFC three times!"

Just got two L1A1 builds back from him, one on a warped Coonan. He had it for a LONG time but only because he wasn’t going to let it beat him. He kept on saying “I’m about to give up on it.....but I want to try one more thing....” He just wasn’t going to give up. A master builder with absolute pride in his work.

I'm a member over at the FAL Files, and have corresponded with Mark on a couple of occasions. He is a (self described) "Arrogant Bastard." He doesn't give a damn who he pisses off, and he does so to many on a regular basis. I personally find him to the point and pretty funny at times. He does know his shit when it comes to firearms in general and FALs in particular. He is about the best there is.

meh - just being a high speed operator in the 80s doesn't make for a life-time get out of jail free card.
He couldn't handle being corrected on his gross misunderstanding of how a FAL operates. Went off in a huff like a petulant school boy. "Don't you know who I am!?" |

It may be somewhat ironic, but ar15.com has a better AK section than AKFiles. At least a less ghetto group participating. But for the last 4 years I've been way over-capacity on FALs, so haven't touched any gunsmithing other than FAL, or visited the AK or HK forums much.
Ar-15s don't interest me much. |

I had a chance to shoot mine out to 500 yards last Wednesday. No problem making hits on steel at that range. I’m dicking with my M1A in the pic.

I figure if I screw up an order, and customer is pissed, he'll be a tiny little bit less pissed with M&M yummies.
I want to do hot sauce since I grow several varieties of hot peppers (Hungarian Yellows do the best), kindof like Mark Larue's Dillo seasoning (except it won't suck) but I haven't figured out how to do the tiny bottles like the tobasco that came with old MREs. |

Second time out with this rifle. 60 more rounds through her. ARS has made me love FALs again. I couldn’t warm up to my stg fal. I love this rifle. I love the texture of the messy paint job in it. This is a nothing special fal as far as the FAL world is concerned. But I sure like this rifle.

Great gunsmith. Does amazing work of FALs, wish he would do some more AKs, but I understand sanity is important to keep. Always very good to me, but then again, I'm not a douche bag and very laissez-faire with such a fine artist.
