I moved a while back and submitted my Form 5320.20, but its been over 2 months and haven't received it back, just curious if I have to wait for it before sending my gun for work. I don't know if they have to send it back to the address on the Form 1.

Edit: I should specify I am waiting on a Form 5320.20 for the purposes of "Permanent Change of Address" not for shipping the firearm to the gunsmith which I plan to do with just a letter of intent.

How long for them to get the work done?

Can't you just ship the upper or lower, because it is only an SBR while it is in SBR "configuration"?

I don't believe it works that way. Once its registered it is always that.

I am soooo confused.

Turn around time on a 5320.20 should be about 3 weeks.

Call Martinsburg.

NFA Branch at: 244 Needy Road Martinsburg, WV 25405. Phone: 304 616-4500

They are nice people who will try and help.

Not true. Poster was correct. It's not an SBR if it's not configured as one.

You do not need a 5320.20 to ship for repair. Ship it out for work and call about the form later.

When I filed my last batch I sent them in for 10 states...and only got half of them back. Had to request copies of the other 5. Only took a couple days for them to arrive.

Two years ago, I sent forms for two states and only got one state back approved.  I can't remember how I contacted them, but I got the others in a week.

I separated the states with yellow sticky's clearly indicating that there were forms for two states.  But since we can only put 3 items per form, there where 12 total forms.

I wish they would modify the forms to allow more items per form and save some trees.

They approved mine with 11 on each form, no issues.

I also have the format set up where I can follow their "other" instructions and get a ridiculous number on a single page.  Can't remember exactly but I'm thinking it was 40+...

I know you did, but they stamped mine "Disapproved" and sent them back.

And I asked the examiner...they (at least he) no longer accept "letters."
