Picked up a cheap Hakim.  The gas adjust was frozen. I had to take the rifle apart so I could heat up the gas block.  Now I can't get either front barrel bands back on.

Anybody have some tips to share?

I had a Hakim years ago.  I seem to remember having problems with the bands.  I had to watch a YouTube video for reminder.  Rear band shouldn't be a problem.  Front band is 2 piece. I think you have to assembly the 2 pieces prior to sliding it over the stock.  Here is a video link of disassembly.  Just reverse what the guy does.  I think the front band has a slot where the front plate fits into.

Thanks for the reply.  The problem was me.  

I figured out the bayonet lug/band shortly after I started this thread.  I just figured out the other barrel band.  I was trying to put the barrel band over the spring, when the spring is suppose to go over the barrel band.
