Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Scar 17 cut/pinned barrel

Im considering sending my 17s barrel to PMM to have it cut and pinned 14.1" to 16" OAL. For those of you who did this, how much louder did this make your 17s? I run my Scar 17s suppressed with a Sandman S/K, so if its a lot louder, its probably not worth it for me.

It's 7.62, even supressed its loud.  I don't know how to quantify what cutting 1.5" off barrel off is going to do, but yes it will be "louder".   I will say you can get in the high 13" range with something like a MAMS brake...that's darn near CQC length with no stamp.

I cut my barrel to 14" and pinned the FSC brake. The gun was a beast.  It was light and handy but I didn't enjoy shooting it.  I have an HK762 that I did the same thing too but that gun is super smooth.
