Hello,

I managed to strip the thread out that holds the pistol grip on and need ideas on some repair ideas.

All I can think of is to put JB weld in the hole and screw the bolt in there coated with a release agent and hope I can get it back out.

Or put JB weld in there and drill and tap it.

Or put a oversized wood or self tapper type screw in there.

Or a helicoil.

What would the hive do?

Btw, never thought I really over tightened it. I swapped triggers out 3 or 4 times, I think I more over used the plastic threads than anything.

I like the helicoil, it’s the most expensive of what I’ve looked into, though.

Retap to a slightly larger screw?

I ended up using a longer screw, the factory one was a 3/4” long and didn’t look like it catching many threads, I found a 1” long screw with the same thread pitch and used it, it’s holding good, For now.

I'm not sure what they're called, but I've used'em before.
They look like a set screw, but the inside is tapped for the final thread. The outside is also threaded, but a larger size. Works on the helicoil principle, but you don't need to buy an entire kit or need special tools. Tap the hole the necessary size and screw the "set screw" insert in. Done.

Timesert repair would be ideal.
