I wouldn’t worry too much about value unless you’re planning on selling.
If planning on selling the rail will be worth more stand alone I’d guess. My ECC with ribbed URX3 upper came to me cerakoted, only thing that bothers me is the person that coated it did the entire gas block. |

To the OP, I would say do it. If it has seen use then it is not like you are wrecking a perfect example. The URX3.1s that I have are engraved so its not like you would be covering over the factory markings etc.
