Hey,

I have an Turkish MP5 pistol that I am going to be filing Form 1 on and I was checking to see if any of you guys had done one of these and could share the info you used when filing the F1?  I know the CZ pistols that came in caused some headaches with ATF being pissy about hyphens in the model number and who the original manufacturer or importer was.

I’ve done F4 transfers but this is my first foray into “making” something.

Use the info engraved on the firearm.  If they have an issue, take a picture of the engravings and submit them.

This is the best course of action.

A lot of the headache you described about slight variations in model names came about with the old Eforms system, and the ATF's strange insistence for uniformity on all forms using the exact same model designation, usually based on what was the first or more commonly used submission, even if it was technically a bit off.  Now that Eforms is gone, So long as you stick to the actual engraved information, you should be fine.
