Local shop has one on clearance for a good price. I need a hunting rifle. Good rifle? Go for it? Thanks for any help.

Have one in 308. Works fine. No complaints at all.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to go by tomorrow and pick it up. I have a Ruger American .22 for my son and the .22 Target model for me. They've both been great, I didn't expect the 30-06 would be any different. Just wanted to make sure before I spent the $$.

I have 4 of them in different chamberings. They all seem to be good shooting rifles but I have never used them to hunt. I put a Boyd's stock on the 30-06..
