I looked but couldn't find anything...

My BIL has an old 45 that he wants to clean up. There's some surface rust in spots so I was looking for a good process to remove it.

Oil and bronze wool is a good place to start. The bronze won't scratch the steel or remove bluing.

^^should be gtg
I use WD-40 and green scotchbrite.

Any more than surface and look into electrolysis. Super simple and by far the easiest way to remove rust.

I use electrolysis on everything I do.  Works out great and easy to do.

Could try a pink pencil eraser.
