Purchased an Amsec VD8036BF to be installed once our home is under way. According to the installation instructions, the frame should be separated and mounted first and then the door will be added afterwards. How many people do I need? Any special rigging equipment? Any tips from those who work in the industry (Frank)?

It depends on the weight, I installed a Browning door (The one that looks like a 6 panel colonial door) that weighs around 600 lbs with one helper. Just be careful!

The door with the frame  is around 900lbs if I remember correctly. It will be installed into 8 or 9” of concrete.

I installed my Sturdy safe door (600ish lbs) with just me and a friend.  I didn't have any kind of rigging, lifting device, we just skidded it on 2x4s and brute forced it.
