I got a Hackberry stock on my CMP Garand. The rifle functions just fine, but the stock is irksome. Anyone know the best place to get another?

When I got my CMP I was lucky enough to get one of their Black Walnut stocks on it.  Other than refinishing it with Tung oil and BLO I love it.  I think they can be had separately.

Was very happy with the stock I got from Dupage Trading.  The fit was very tight, and the quality of both material and manufacture appeared to be flawless.

Well, don't go back to snoozing just yet ... Try Brownells or MidwayUSA for Garand stock sets.

Those vendors don't have USGI stock sets

That is unimpressive.  I liked the birch to a certain degree.  Not their staining though.

That stock has way too much meat by the trigger.  I would take a rasp and sandpaper to it.

I get that.

I was suggesting those vendors as possible sources for stocks if the OP wants something better than 'Hackleberry' junk wood on his M1.

Sometime ago, I re-built a S.A. M1 that came to me with a shot-to-snot, badly frosted LMR barrel, and really beat-up GI wood.  I wanted a good-lookin' shooter ... So I installed a Criterion barrel and dropped it into a Minelli stock set from Brownells.   Now, it looks and shoots great.

Here's the link, just FYI:
